Next step: Law School, University of Cincinnati
Law school bound: Kennedy is off to law school at the University of Cincinnati in the fall. She engaged in multiple law internships in different practice areas while an 91ֱundergraduate, including at the 91ֱLaw Legal Clinic, two private law firms, and the City of Lima’s Prosecutor’s office. “Through these internships I learned just how influential attorneys could be in people’s lives.”
Excelling on all fronts: Additionally, Kennedy danced in theatre productions, welcomed students as an Orientation Leader, and led student organizations. “I squeezed in so many amazing experiences in my four short years at ONU. In my life, I hope I never stop learning. I think being curious is so important to finding happiness in life.”
un-CAPP it!: As a fellow for ONU’s Institute for Civics and Public Policy (ICAPP), Kennedy co-hosted a political podcast called un-CAPP it! She researched interesting topics and connected with influential people across the country. “This podcast changed my life.”
Behind every rising star: Two 91ֱmentors shaped the course of Kennedy’s 91ֱjourney: Dr. Rob Alexander, professor of political science and ICAPP director, and Elizabeth Cozard-Howard, assistant professor of dance. “Dr. A was not just my professor; I really look up to him and he inspired me to do great things with my life. Liz was more than a dance teacher for me, she was extremely supportive in my academic endeavors.”
Lasting friendships: Kennedy also treasures her 91ֱfriendships. “I’ve never had a group of friends support each other as much as my 91ֱfriends do. These friendships have truly shaped my college experience, and I can say with certainty that I’ve found my lifelong friends in college.”
