All of Ohio Northern University’s most recent Nursing Program graduates passed the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) on their first attempt, surpassing the national average (87.6%) and the 85.7% state average. During the past five years, ONU’s pass rate has been 92.1%, with nursing graduates consistently outpacing the state and national averages.

Passing the exam is required to practice as a registered nurse.

“I am thrilled and over the moon regarding the 2023 graduate performance,” said Kami Fox, DNP, RN, ONU’s nursing program director and professor in the School of Health and Behavioral Sciences. “This year’s NCLEX exam included new types of questions that focused on clinical judgement. The Class of ‘23s NCLEX performance is a testament to our faculty, the program they deliver and the students that engage. Our students are working professionally, providing patient care and serving a profession with high demand.”
